About
up to Ch.2Billee is one of the working huskies on Buck's sled team in The Call of the Wild by Jack London. Brought onto the team by Perrault along with his brother Joe, Billee is marked by his one fault — an excessive good nature. Where Joe is sour and snarling, Billee wags his tail appeasingly and cries when the leader Spitz scores him, eager above all to keep the peace.
Billee pulls in the traces beside Buck, Dave, Sol-leks, Pike, Dub, and Dolly, under the drivers Perrault and François. His placating ways do little to shield him from the team's harsher members, but his good-natured temperament makes him one of the gentlest figures among the wolfish dogs of the Klondike trail.
